Uthman bin al-Arqam bin Abi al-Arqam al-Makhzumi narrates from his father al-Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him), who was one of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that he said: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The one who steps over the necks of people on Friday and separates between them is like one who drags his intestines in the Fire."

Explanation & Benefits

Grading: Its chain is da'if jiddan (very weak). Technical note / Defect ('illah): This is because of Hisham bin Ziyad, whose weakness the imams agree on; al-Dhahabi also declared him wahi (very feeble) in "Talkhis al-Mustadrak". Reference / Source: Ahmad narrated it in his "Musnad" (24/ 15447) via Abbad bin Abbad al-Muhallabi, with this chain. Details of the narration: Ahmad's version does not mention Ammar bin Sa'd al-Qaraz, but it adds the words: "after the imam comes out". Note / Clarification: "Al-qusb" means the intestine, and its plural is "aqsab".
