[التعليق - من تلخيص الذهبي] ترقيم العلميه 6125 - صحيح
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that one night the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) could not sleep, so he said: "If only a man from among my Companions would guard me tonight." Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) says: Suddenly we heard the clatter of weapons, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Who is this?" Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O Messenger of Allah, it is I; I have come to guard you." Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) says: After that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) slept (so peacefully) that I heard the sound of his snoring (peace and blessings be upon him).
The chain of this hadith is sahih (authentic), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
