It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that Sayyiduna Hassan bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) for permission to satirise the idolaters. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said (inquiringly): "But what about my lineage, which is among them (Quraysh)?" Hassan said: "I will draw you out from among them (unharmed) just as a hair is drawn out of kneaded dough." Hisham says that my father (Urwah) was about to speak ill of Hassan in the presence of Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), and she said (forbidding him): "Do not speak ill of Hassan, for he used to defend the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it in this way (with these words). However, Imam Muslim recorded it as a long hadith in which the complete ode is also mentioned: "You satirised Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and I answered on his behalf, and with Allah is the best reward for that."

Grading: Its chain is sahih. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Ahmad bin Salamah is the Naysaburi hadith master (hafiz), and his shaykh Ishaq is Ishaq bin Rahawayh. Reference / Source: Ibn Hibban (7145) narrated it via Muhammad bin 'Abdullah al-Azdi from Ishaq bin Rahawayh with this same chain (but without mentioning the statement of 'Urwah at the end). Imam al-Bukhari (3531, 4145, 6150), Muslim (2489) and Ibn Hibban (5787) narrated it through several routes from 'Abdah bin Sulayman, and al-Bukhari also mentioned the statement of 'Urwah in it. Al-Hakim's adding it as a supplement (istidrak) to the two Shaykhs is an oversight (dhuhul) on his part. Reference / Source: Imam Muslim also narrated it via Yahya bin Zakariyya from Hisham bin 'Urwah. Details of the narration: The statement of 'Urwah at the end, in which 'A'ishah forbade him from reviling Hassan, was narrated by Muslim (2487) via 'Uthman bin Abi Shaybah from 'Abdah bin Sulayman, and via Abu Usamah Hammad bin Usamah from Hisham bin 'Urwah.
Reference / Source: This narration is with Imam Muslim at number (2490) with the chain: al-Layth bin Sa'd from Khalid bin Yazid from Sa'id bin Abi Hilal from 'Umarah bin Ghaziyyah from Muhammad bin Ibrahim al-Taymi from Abu Salamah bin 'Abd al-Rahman from 'A'ishah.
