حَدَّثَنَا الحسين بن الحسن بن أيوب، حَدَّثَنَا أبو يحيى بن أبي مَسَرَّة (1)، حَدَّثَنَا عبد العزيز بن عبد الله الأُوَيسي، حَدَّثَنَا إبراهيم بن سعد، عن صالح بن كَيْسان، عن ابن شِهاب، عن عُرْوة قال: كانت عائشةُ تكره أن يُسَبَّ حسانُ بن ثابتٍ عندها، وتقول: أليسَ الذي قال: فإنَّ أَبي ووالده وعِرْضي … لعِرْضِ محمدٍ منكم وقَاءُ (2)

It is narrated from Urwah that Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) strongly disliked that Sayyiduna Hassan bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) be reviled in her presence, and she would say (in his defence): "Is he not the one who said (out of love for the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him) this verse: 'Indeed my father, his father and my honour are a shield for the honour of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) against you (idolaters).'"

(1) تحرَّف في (ز) و (ب) إلى: أبي سبرة.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): In manuscripts (Z) and (B) this name has become 'Abi Sabrah' through corruption (an error).
(2) إسناده صحيح.
Grading: The chain of this narration is sahih.
وأخرجه ضمن حديث طويلٍ البخاري (4141) عن عبد العزيز بن عبد الله الأُويسي، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Imam al-Bukhari (4141) narrated it within a long hadith via 'Abd al-'Aziz bin 'Abdullah al-Uwaysi with this same chain.
وأخرجه أحمد (42/ 25624)، ومسلم (2770) (57)، والنسائي (8882) من طريقين عن إبراهيم بن سعد الزهري، به.
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad (42/ 25624), Muslim (2770) (57) and al-Nasa'i (8882) narrated it through two routes via Ibrahim bin Sa'd al-Zuhri.
