حَدَّثَنَا محمد بن إبراهيم بن الفَضْل (3)، حَدَّثَنَا الحسين بن محمد القبّاني، حَدَّثَنَا سَوّار بن عبد الله العَنبَري، حَدَّثَنَا يحيى بن سعيد، حدثني حُميد، حَدَّثَنَا واقع بن سَحْبان: أنَّ رجلًا أتى عِمرانَ بن حُصين وهو في المسجد فقال: رجلٌ طلَّق امرأتَه وهو في مجلسٍ ثلاثًا؟ فقال: إثْمٌ لَزِمَه وحَرُمَتْ عليه امرأتُه. فانطَلَقَ فذَكَر ذلك لأبي موسى - يريد عَيْبَه - فقال أبو موسى أكثَرَ اللهُ فينا مثلَ أبي نُجَيد (4). ذكرُ مناقب فَضَالة بن عُبَيد الأنصاري وأخيه زياد بن عُبيد ﵄، وله أيضًا صحبة

It is narrated from Waqi' bin Sahban that a man came to Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) while he was sitting in the mosque, and asked: What is the ruling on a man who gave his wife three divorces in a single sitting? He replied: "A sin has become binding upon him, and his wife has become unlawful for him (because of the irrevocable divorce)." The man left and mentioned this (with the intention of criticising it) to Sayyiduna Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him), and Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "May Allah Almighty increase among us people of insight like Abu Nujayd (Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn)."

(3) تحرَّف في (ز) و (ب) إلى: المفضل، وضبب عليه في (ز).
Important point: In manuscripts (Z) and (B) this has been distorted to "al-Mufaddal", and in manuscript (Z) it is also marked with a tadbib sign (a mark of doubt).
(4) إسناده حسن، واقع بن سحبان تابعيّ روى عنه جمع وذكره ابن حبان في "الثقات". يحيى بن سعيد: هو القطان، وحميد: هو ابن أبي حميد الطويل.
Grading: Its chain is "hasan"; Waqi' bin Sahban is a Tabi'i from whom a group narrated, and Ibn Hibban included him in "al-Thiqat".
Important point: Yahya bin Sa'id is al-Qattan, and Humayd is Humayd bin Abi Humayd al-Tawil.
وأخرجه ابن أبي شيبة 5/ 10، والدولابي في "الكنى والأسماء" (340) و (489) والبيهقي في "السنن الكبرى" 7/ 332 من طرق عن حميد الطويل، به.
Reference / Source: Ibn Abi Shaybah (5/10), al-Dulabi in "al-Kuna wa al-Asma'" (340, 489) and al-Bayhaqi in "al-Sunan al-Kubra" (7/332) narrated it through various routes from Humayd al-Tawil.
