أخبرنا أبو بكر محمد بن المؤمَّل بن الحسن بن عيسى، حَدَّثَنَا الفضل بن محمد الشَّعراني، حَدَّثَنَا أحمد بن حنبل، حَدَّثَنَا أبو داود، حَدَّثَنَا شُعبة قال: قلت للحَكَم: ما شَهِدَ أبو أيوب من حرب عليّ بن أبي طالب؟ قال: شَهِدَ معه حَرُوراءَ (1).
It is narrated from al-Hakam that Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) took part alongside Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) in Harura' (the battle against the Khawarij).

(1) أبو داود: هو الطيالسي، والحكم: هو ابن عتيبة الكندي.
Important point: Here Abu Dawud is Imam Abu Dawud al-Tayalisi, and al-Hakam is al-Hakam bin 'Utaybah al-Kindi.
وأخرجه يعقوب بن سفيان في "المعرفة والتاريخ" 3/ 210 عن أبي داود الطيالسي، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Ya'qub bin Sufyan al-Fasawi narrated it in "al-Ma'rifah wa al-Tarikh" (3/ 210) by way of Imam Abu Dawud al-Tayalisi, with this chain.
وأخرجه ابن سعد في "الطبقات" 3/ 449 قال: أُخبرت عن شعبة … فذكره.
Reference / Source: Imam Ibn Sa'd narrated it in "al-Tabaqat" (3/ 449) with these words: "I was informed on the authority of Shu'bah bin al-Hajjaj..." then he mentioned the full narration.
Important point: Here Abu Dawud is Imam Abu Dawud al-Tayalisi, and al-Hakam is al-Hakam bin 'Utaybah al-Kindi.
