Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 5972

It is narrated from Sayyidah Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with them both) that she said: I saw Zayd bin Amr bin Nufayl standing with his back leaning against the Ka'bah, saying: "O people of Quraysh! Today none of you is upon the religion of Ibrahim except me." He used to save the lives of girls who were to be buried alive. When a man intended to kill his daughter, he would say to him: "Wait! Do not kill her; I will bear the burden of her expenses." So he would take her, and when the girl grew up, he would say to her father: "If you wish, I will hand her over to you, and if you wish, I will continue to support her."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs, but they did not record it.
