Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 5946

أخبرني الحسين بن علي، حدثنا أحمد بن محمد بن الحُسين، حدثنا عَمرو بن زُرَارة، حدثنا زياد بن عبد الله البَكّائي، عن محمد بن إسحاق، في ذكر من شهد بدرًا، قال: ومن الأَوسِ ثم من حُلَفائهم من بني عبد الأشْهَل: محمدُ بن مَسْلَمة بن خالد بن عَدِيّ بن مَجْدَعةَ بن حارثة بن الحارث بن عمرو بن مالك بن الأوس، كان حليفًا لبني عبد الأشْهَل توفي سنة ثلاث -وقيل: سنة ست- وأربعين، وهو يومئذٍ ابن سبعٍ وسبعين سنةً، وكان يُكنى أبا عبد الرحمن، وصلَّى عليه مروانُ بن الحَكَم (2).

It is narrated from Muhammad bin Ishaq, in the mention of those who took part in the Battle of Badr, that from the Ansar tribe of Aws, and then from their allies Banu Abd al-Ashhal, was Sayyiduna Muhammad bin Maslamah bin Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him). He passed away in the year 43 or 46 AH, and at that time he was seventy-seven years old. His kunyah was "Abu Abd al-Rahman", and Marwan bin al-Hakam led his funeral prayer.
