Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 5939

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Adi bin al-Hamra' (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), while standing at the place called al-Hazwarah in Makkah, say: "By Allah! You are indeed the best land of Allah and the most beloved of all Allah's lands to Him; and had I not been driven out of you (by force), I would never have left you."

Explanation & Benefits

Note / Clarification: In our manuscripts the waw in this word is marked with a shaddah (doubled), which is a mistake that we pointed out at the earlier route of the hadith, number (4316).

Grading: Its chain is sahih. Shu'ayb is Ibn Abi Hamzah.
Reference / Source: Ahmad (31/18715) narrated it from Abu al-Yaman al-Hakam bin Nafi', from Shu'ayb bin Abi Hamzah, with this chain.
Note / Clarification: It has already passed at number (4316) through the route of Uqayl bin Khalid, from al-Zuhri.
Note / Clarification: And at number (5303) through the route of the nephew of Ibn Shihab al-Zuhri, from his uncle, from Muhammad bin Jubayr bin Mut'im, from Abd Allah bin Adi. Thus he named the Tabi'i (Muhammad bin Jubayr bin Mut'im), contradicting all the other students of al-Zuhri, such as Uqayl, Shu'ayb, Salih bin Kaysan and others, who agreed on mentioning Abu Salamah.
