It is narrated from Imam Muslim bin al-Hajjaj that the kunya of Sayyiduna Ya'la bin Umayyah al-Thaqafi (may Allah be pleased with him) is "Abu al-Murazim", and that he is a Companion of the Messenger.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
(158). Reference / Source: It is in Muslim's "al-Kuna wa al-Asma'" (3338). Abu Hatim al-Sulami is Makki bin Abdan al-Naysaburi. The author (al-Hakim) attributed him as "al-Sulami", as did his shaykh Abu Ahmad al-Hakim in "al-Asami wa al-Kuna" (1/177) in the biography of Abu Ishaq Ibrahim bin al-Harith al-Baghdadi, and Ibn Mandah likewise attributed him so in "Fath al-Bab fi al-Kuna wa al-Alqab" (158) in the biography of the same man. Important point: This despite the fact that the author mentioned him in "Tarikh Naysabur" (as in its "Mukhtasar", 1514) and attributed him as "al-Tamimi", which is his well-known attribution. It is also how he was attributed by more than one of the hafiz scholars who narrated the books of Imam Muslim from him. Note / Clarification: His attribution (al-Tamimi) likewise appears this way in the books in which his biography is given.
