أخبرنا محمد بن المُؤمَّل بن الحسن، حدثنا الفَضْل بن محمد، حدثنا أحمد بن حنبل، حدثنا عبد الرزاق، أخبرنا مَعمَر، عن علي بن زيد بن جُدْعانَ: أَنَّ ابنَ عباس لما دُفِنَ زيدُ بن ثابت حَثَا عليه التُّرابَ، ثم قال: هكذا يُدفَن العِلمُ (3).
It is narrated from Ali bin Zayd bin Jud'an that when Sayyiduna Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) was buried, Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) threw dust upon him and then said: "This is how knowledge is buried."

Grading: The report is sahih, while the present chain is da'if (weak) due to the weakness of Ali bin Zayd bin Jud'an. Here, in the narration of Ma'mar (Ibn Rashid) from him, he narrated the report as "mursal", whereas in the narration of Abu Amir al-Khazzaz (which has already passed with the author at 5893) he narrated it "connected" (mawsul), where Ibn Jud'an narrated from Sa'id bin al-Musayyab, who said: I attended the funeral of Zayd bin Thabit…
وهو في "مصنف عبد الرزاق" (6479)، ومن طريقه أخرجه ابن المنذر في "الأوسط" (3193).

وهو أيضًا في "فضائل الصحابة" لأحمد بن حنبل (1873).

وأخرجه يعقوب بن سفيان في "المعرفة والتاريخ" 1/ 485، ومن طريقه البيهقي 3/ 410، وابن عساكر 19/ 335 من طريق عبد الله بن المبارك، عن معمر، به.
