Muhammad bin Ali Ibn al-Hanafiyyah narrates from Sayyiduna Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him) that he came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was suffering from a severe fever. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Shall I not teach you the supplication that Jibril (peace be upon him) taught me for ruqyah?" I said: Certainly, O Messenger of Allah! So he (peace and blessings be upon him) taught him this supplication: 'Bismillahi arqika, wallahu yashfika, min kulli da'in yu'dhika. Khudhha falta-hnika' (In the name of Allah I perform ruqyah over you, and Allah will cure you of every illness that harms you. Take it, and may it be pleasant (and a means of healing) for you).
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

Hadith Grading
Hadith Takhrij «
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: In manuscripts (S) and (M) the word is "fatahnik".

Grading: Its chain is "jayyid" (good).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): This is because of Fudayl bin Marzuq, who is "saduq" (truthful) and there is no harm in him. Ibn Hajar graded this hadith of his "hasan" in "Nata'ij al-Afkar" (4/ 200).
Reference / Source: Abu Tahir al-Mukhallis narrated it in "al-Mukhallisiyyat" (1308) via Yahya bin Muhammad bin Sa'id, from al-Rabi' bin Sulayman, with this same chain.
Reference / Source: Al-Tabarani narrated it in "al-Du'a" (1088) via al-Miqdam bin Dawud al-Misri, from Asad bin Musa. Ibn Hajar mentioned that al-Daraqutni recorded it in "al-Afrad" by way of Asad bin Musa and said: "It is gharib among the hadith of Muhammad Ibn al-Hanafiyyah from him; Maysarah is alone in narrating it from al-Minhal, and no one narrated it from Maysarah except Fudayl."

Corroborating chains and supporting reports: On this topic there are reports from more than one Companion; see the hadith of Abu Hurayrah that preceded as number (4034).
