Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: This report is, if Allah wills, "hasan".
Technical note / Defect ('illah): The narrator Abd Allah bin Salimah (who is al-Muradi al-Kufi), although weak, is accepted for corroboration (yu'tabar bihi). And the participation of Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him) in the Battle of Siffin is well known.
Reference / Source: Ahmad (31/ 18884) and Ibn Hibban (7080) recorded it through the route of Muhammad bin Ja'far, who narrates from Shu'bah, with this same chain.
