أخبرنا الشيخ أبو بكر بن إسحاق، أخبرنا إسماعيل بن قُتَيبة، حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شَيْبة، حدثنا محمد بن فُضَيل بن غَزْوانَ، عن أبيه، قال: سمعت كُرْدُوسًا يقول: إنَّ خباب بن الأرتِّ أسلَمَ سادسَ ستةٍ فكان سُدسَ الإسلامِ (1).

Kurdus states that Sayyiduna Khabbab bin al-Aratt (may Allah be pleased with him) accepted Islam as the sixth person (to believe), and thus he was one sixth of the whole of Islam (at that time).

Technical note / Defect ('illah): The narrator "Kurdus" is Kurdus bin al-Abbas al-Ghatafani, who is a Successor (tabi'i).

Corroborating chains and supporting reports: All these recordings are narrated through various routes (chains) from Muhammad bin Fudayl, with this same text.
