حَدَّثَنَا علي بن حَمْشاذ، حَدَّثَنَا محمد بن غالب، حَدَّثَنَا فَهد بن عَوْف، حَدَّثَنَا حماد بن سَلَمة عن ثابت عن أنس: أنَّ النَّبِيّ ﷺ آخَى بين أبي طَلْحة وبين أبي عُبيدة (1).

Thabit narrates from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) established brotherhood between Abu Talhah and Abu Ubaydah (may Allah be pleased with them both).
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Technical note / Defect ('illah): Although the hadith scholars abandoned Fahd bin 'Awf (as Imam al-Dhahabi wrote in al-Talkhis under no. 5248), he is not alone in this narration; rather, a group of trustworthy (thiqah) narrators narrated it from Hammad bin Salamah.
