Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 5604

Thabit narrates from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I will never become a commander even over two men, nor will I speak ill of them."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is sahih.
Reference / Source: Imam al-Bukhari narrated it in "al-Tarikh al-Kabir" (2/ 143) with the chain of Qutaybah bin Sa'id from Bahz bin Asad.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): However, al-Bukhari's narration has the words "wa la a'ummuhuma" (and I will not lead the two of them in prayer). Most likely some corruption (a verbal error) has occurred in the text here with the author (al-Hakim).
