Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 560

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The price of a dog is impure, and it (the dog) is more impure than it (the price)."
All the narrators of this hadith are trustworthy (thiqah). If it is free of (weakness from) Yusuf bin Khalid al-Samti, then it is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Bukhari. I have mentioned it because of the need for it, since the two Shaykhs have used the like of it in many places.

Hadith Takhrij «
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is "talif" (utterly weak, of the most extreme degree of weakness).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): The narrator Yusuf bin Khalid al-Samti is "wahi" (extremely weak), and some even called him a liar. Abu Kamil refers to "Fudayl bin Husayn al-Jahdari".
Reference / Source: Imam al-Bayhaqi narrated it (1/19) via the chain of Abu 'Abd Allah al-Hakim.
Reference / Source: Imam al-Daraqutni narrated it (178) via the chain of Muhammad bin Abi 'Attab from Abu Kamil.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: This weak narration is not needed, because Imam Ahmad (4/2512) transmitted a similar marfu' narration with an authentic (sahih) chain from Qays bin Hibtar from Ibn 'Abbas, but without the words "and it is even more vile than it".
