It is narrated from Jubayr bin Nufayr that Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say: "I saw myself as a quarter of Islam (that is, at that time there were only four Muslims); before me only the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), Abu Bakr and Bilal (may Allah be pleased with them both) had accepted Islam."
This hadith has an authentic (sahih) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: (1) This chain is da'if (weak) because of the weakness of Ahmad bin 'Isa al-Lakhmi. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Although he is corroborated, Sadaqah bin Abd Allah (al-Samin al-Dimashqi) is weak and "munkar al-hadith" (his hadith are denounced). However, a similar report comes after this through another route which may possibly be graded hasan. Reference / Source: It was recorded by al-Tabari in his "Tarikh" (2/ 315) from Ibn Abd al-Rahim al-Barqi; by al-Tabarani in "al-Kabir" (1618) - and from him Abu Nu'aym in "Ma'rifat al-Sahabah" (1551) - from Abd Allah bin Sa'id bin Abi Maryam; and by al-Tabarani in "Musnad al-Shamiyyin" (2528) - and through him Ibn 'Asakir in "Tarikh Dimashq" (46/ 266) - from Ahmad bin Mas'ud al-Dimashqi. All three of them (al-Barqi, Ibn Abi Maryam and Ahmad bin Mas'ud) narrate it from 'Amr bin Abi Salamah with this chain. Details of the narration: In the narration of Ahmad bin Mas'ud and al-Barqi it is from Jubayr bin Nufayr, who said: "Abu Dharr and 'Amr bin 'Abasah both used to say..." (and he mentioned it), and at its end: "Neither of them knew when the other had accepted Islam." Note / Clarification: The hadith of 'Amr bin 'Abasah has already passed under number (4467) through another route from him.
