Muhammad bin Umar relates that the kunyah of Abdullah bin Zayd bin Abd Rabbih bin Tha'labah bin Zayd bin al-Harith was Abu Muhammad. According to all the narrators, Abdullah bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) was among the seventy of the Ansar who were present (for the pledge) on the night of Aqabah. He took part with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in the Battles of Badr, Uhud, al-Khandaq and all the campaigns. In the campaign of the Conquest of Makkah the banner of Banu al-Harith bin al-Khazraj was with him, and he is the Companion who was shown the adhan in a dream.
