Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 5431

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Urwah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) that among the men of Banu Zuhrah bin Kilab who took part in the Battle of Badr with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Awf bin al-Harith bin Zuhrah (may Allah be pleased with him).

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): (1) The name of 'Urwah (he is Ibn al-Zubayr) has dropped out of the base manuscripts of the "Mustadrak", yet it is indispensable. For he is the owner of the "Maghazi" collection which Abu al-Aswad (he is Muhammad bin 'Abd al-Rahman, known as "Yatim 'Urwah") narrates from him; and Ibn Lahi'ah ('Abdullah bin Lahi'ah) took it from Abu al-Aswad. The author (al-Hakim) quotes from this collection frequently in this book of his.
