أخبرني أبو الحسن محمد بن أحمد الرئيس بمَرْو، حدثنا جعفر بن محمد بن الحارث، حدثنا عمّار بن الحسن، حدثنا سَلَمة بن الفضل، عن محمد بن إسحاق قال: وأُسيد بن حُضَير بن سِماك بن عَتِيك بن رافع بن امرِئ القيس بن زيد بن عبد الأشهَل، ويُكنى أبا يحيى، توفي سنة عشرين (1).
Muhammad bin Ishaq said: The kunyah of Usayd bin Hudayr bin Simak bin Atik bin Rafi' bin Imri' al-Qays bin Zayd bin Abd al-Ashhal was Abu Yahya, and he died in the year 20 AH.

Reference / Source: (1) See: "al-Sirah al-Nabawiyyah" of Ibn Hisham (1/ 444); he transmitted the name and lineage of Usayd from Ibn Ishaq, but did not mention his kunyah or his death.
وقد ثبت أنَّ رسول الله ﷺ ناداه مرة بكنيته أبي يحيى، كما أخرجه النسائي (7962) و (8020) من حديث أبي سعيد الخُدري.
Reference / Source: It is established that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) once called him by his kunyah "Abu Yahya", as al-Nasa'i (7962, 8020) recorded from the hadith of Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him).
ووفاته سنة عشرين هو الأصح الذي نقله جماهير العلماء، انظر "تاريخ دمشق" لابن عساكر 9 - 78 - 97.
Important point: That he died in the year 20 AH is the more correct view, transmitted by the majority of scholars. See: "Tarikh Dimashq" of Ibn Asakir (9/ 78-97).
