It is narrated from Sayyiduna Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day in the morning the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) called Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: "O Bilal! By what deed did you precede me into Paradise? Last night I entered Paradise and heard the sound of your footsteps ahead of me. Then I came to a square, lofty palace of gold, and I asked: 'Whose palace is this?' They said: 'A man from the Ummah of Muhammad.' I said: 'I am Muhammad; whose palace is this?' They said: 'An Arab's.' I said: 'I am an Arab; whose is it?' They said: 'A man of Quraysh.' I said: 'I am of Quraysh; whose is it?' They said: 'Umar bin al-Khattab's.'" At this Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah! Whenever I have given the adhan, I have always prayed two rak'ahs (voluntary prayer) after it, and whenever I have happened to lose my ablution, I have performed ablution right then. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is because of this."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.
