أخبرني إبراهيم بن فِراس الفقيه بمكة، حدثنا بكر بن سَهْل الدِّمْياطي، حدثنا عبد الله بن صالح، حدثني معاوية بن صالح، عن سُلَيم بن عامر، عن أبي أُمامة، عن عمرو بن عَبَسة قال: رأيتُ النبيَّ ﷺ وهو نازلٌ بعُكَاظ، فقلتُ: مَن معك على هذا الأمر؟ فقال: "رجلانِ: أبو بكر وبلالٌ"، فأسلمتُ، ولقد رأيتُني وأنا رُبعُ الإسلام (1). صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

Sayyiduna Amr bin Abasah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was staying at Ukaz, and I asked: Who is with you in this matter (the religion)? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Two men: Abu Bakr and Bilal." So I accepted Islam, and I found myself the fourth person to have accepted Islam.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(1) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد حسن في المتابعات والشواهد من أجل عبدِ الله بن صالح - وهو كاتب الليث - وبكرِ بن سَهْل الدَّمْياطي، وقد توبعا كما تقدَّم برقم (593) و (4468).
Grading: (1) This hadith is sahih, and this chain is "hasan" in corroborations and supporting reports.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): That is because of "'Abd Allah bin Salih" (the scribe of al-Layth bin Sa'd) and "Bakr bin Sahl al-Dimyati", and both of them have been corroborated, as has passed under numbers (593) and (4468).
