أخبرنا أبو جعفر، حدثنا أبو عُلَاثة، حدثنا أبي، حدثنا ابن لَهِيعة، عن أبي الأسود، عن عُرْوة: أنَّ عُتبة بن غزوان شهد بدرًا مع رسول الله ﷺ (3).
It is narrated from Urwah that Sayyiduna Utbah bin Ghazwan (may Allah be pleased with him) took part in the Battle of Badr alongside the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).

(3) وأخرجه سليمان بن أحمد الطبراني في "المعجم الكبير" 17/ (274) عن محمد بن عمرو بن خالد - وهو أبو عُلَاثة - بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: (3) Sulayman bin Ahmad al-Tabarani recorded it in "al-Mu'jam al-Kabir" [17/(274)] from Muhammad bin 'Amr bin Khalid (Abu 'Ulathah) with this same chain.
(1) كذلك جاء في أصول "المستدرك": سليمان بن موسى، وهو وهمٌ فيما يغلب على ظننا، لأنَّ الطبراني قد أخرج هذا الحديث في "معجمه الكبير" 17/ (280) عن مقدام بن داود، عن أسد بن موسى، عن سليمان بن المغيرة، وقد رواه عن سليمان بن المغيرة، جماعة يزيد عددهم على السبعة، كلهم يروونه بمثل هذا اللفظ الذي ساقه المصنف هنا، فهو الصحيح هنا كذلك أنه سليمان بن المغيرة، وكأنه خطأٌ ناشئ عن سبق نظر.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): (1) In the original manuscripts of "al-Mustadrak" it appears thus as "Sulayman bin Musa", but in our strong opinion this is an "error" (wahm).
Reference / Source: Because al-Tabarani recorded this hadith in "al-Mu'jam al-Kabir" [17/(280)] from Miqdam bin Dawud, from Asad bin Musa, from Sulayman bin al-Mughirah.
General principle: A group of more than seven narrators reported it from Sulayman bin al-Mughirah, all of them with the same wording that the author has given here. Hence here too the correct name is "Sulayman bin al-Mughirah", and it seems this mistake arose from the eye skipping (sabq al-nazar).
