It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Tufayl bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him): We said: "O Messenger of Allah, make us your right flank (of the army), and make our battle cry 'Ya Mabrur' (O you who have attained righteousness)." He (peace and blessings be upon him) did so, and to this day the battle cry of the entire tribe of Azd is 'Mabrur'.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, provided that it is not mursal. And Amr bin al-Tufayl bin Amr also lived in the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): (1) In manuscripts (Z) and (B) this has been corrupted into "al-Makhzumi", whereas the correct form is "al-Makhrami", an ascription to his grandfather "Makhramah" (the father of al-Miswar).
Grading: (2) There is "no harm" in its narrators, but it is "munqati'", because 'Abd al-Wahid bin Abi 'Awn al-Dawsi did not live in the time of al-Tufayl bin 'Amr. Note / Clarification: Mention of the battle-cry of the Azd tribe has already appeared from the hadith of Ibn 'Abbas at no. (2542), but its chain is "very weak"; it contains a "matruk" narrator.
