Abdullah bin Abi Sufyan bin al-Harith bin Abd al-Muttalib said: A man was owed dates by the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He came to him (peace and blessings be upon him) to demand his due, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) borrowed dates from Sayyidah Khawlah bint Hakim (may Allah be pleased with her) and gave them to him, and said: "I did have my own dates, but they were ones watered only by rain (growing wild)." Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This is how the believing servants of Allah act. Indeed, Allah does not show mercy to a people among whom the weak cannot obtain his right without faltering and fear."
