Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 5104

أخبرني الإمام أبو الوليد الفقيه وأبو بكر بن قُريش الوَرّاق قالا: حدثنا الحَسَن بن سفيان حدثنا وهْب بن بَقيّة، أخبرنا خالد عن حُميد، عن أنس، قال: خَطَبَ ثابتُ بن قيس عند مَقدَمِ النبيّ ﷺ المدينةَ، فقال: نمنُعك مما نَمنعُ منه أَنفُسَنا وأولادَنا، فما لنا؟ قال: "الجنةُ" قال: رَضِينا (2). صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyiduna Thabit bin Qays (may Allah be pleased with him) delivered a speech on the occasion of the arrival of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in Madinah and said: "We will protect you just as we protect our own lives and our children; so what will we get (in return)?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Paradise." He said: "We are content."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs, but they did not record it.

(2) إسناده صحيح. حميد: هو ابن أبي حميد الطويل، وخالد هو ابن عبد الله الواسطي الطحّان.
Grading: Its chain is "sahih". "Humayd" is Ibn Abi Humayd al-Tawil, and "Khalid" is Ibn Abd Allah al-Wasiti al-Tahhan.
وأخرجه النسائي (8171) من طريق خالد بن الحارث، عن حميد الطويل، به.
Reference / Source: Al-Nasa'i (8171) recorded it by way of Khalid bin al-Harith from Humayd al-Tawil.
وقد تقدَّم مثله برقم (4299) من حديث جابر بن عبد الله قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ للنقباء من الأنصار: "تؤونني وتمنعوني؟ " قالوا: نعم، فما لنا؟ قال: "الجنة". وهو حديث صحيح أيضًا.
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: A similar narration has already passed at number (4299) from Jabir bin Abd Allah (may Allah be pleased with him), in which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the naqibs of the Ansar: "Will you give me refuge and protect me?" They said: Yes, so what is there for us? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Paradise." This hadith is also "sahih".
