Hadith Grading
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is also "hasan", like the previous narration.
Technical note: It appears that Ahmad bin Salamah (who is the Naysaburi hafiz) first heard it from Muhammad bin Yahya (al-Dhuhli al-Naysaburi), then when he travelled in pursuit of hadith he met Qutaybah and heard it from him directly as well; so he sometimes narrates it through that intermediary and sometimes directly.

Note / Arrangement of the text: In our manuscripts this heading (biography) and the two narrations after it had been moved to after narration number (5096), whereas according to the author's arrangement its proper place is here, since narrations relating to the biography of Rifa'ah bin Rafi' are being presented here; so it was necessary to bring it forward to this place.
