It is narrated from Sayyiduna Urwah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him), in the list of names of the Companions who took part in the Battle of Badr with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), that among them was Sayyiduna Abu Marthad al-Ghanawi (may Allah be pleased with him), the ally of Sayyiduna Hamzah bin Abd al-Muttalib.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): (3) In the manuscripts the chapter heading (tarjamah) of Marthad bin Abi Marthad has mistakenly appeared here, whereas all the narrations here concern the father (Abu Marthad Kannaz bin Husayn al-Ghanawi); therefore it has been removed from here and placed in its proper position (5046).
Note / Clarification: (4) The addition of the word "ma'a" (with) has been taken from the Mahmudiyyah manuscript, as in the al-Mayman edition.
