ذِكْرُ مَنَاقِبِ حَارِثَةَ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ . وَهُوَ ابْنُ نَفْعٍ أَحَدِ بَنِي غَنْمِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ يُكَنَّى أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا فَاسْتُشْهِدَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ .

أخبرنا أحمد بن سُلَيمان المَوصِلي، حَدَّثَنَا علي بن حَرْب، حَدَّثَنَا سفيان، عن الزُّهري، عن عَمْرة، عن عائشة، أنَّ النَّبِيّ ﷺ قال: "دخَلتُ الجنةَ فسمعتُ فيها قراءةً، فقلتُ: مَن هذا؟ قالوا: حارثةُ بن النُّعمان، كذلِكُم البِرُّ، كذلِكُم البِرُّ" (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I entered Paradise and heard the sound of recitation there. I asked: 'Who is this?' The angels replied: 'This is Harithah bin al-Nu'man.' (The reward of righteousness) is like this; the reward of kindness to parents is like this."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

(1) إسناده صحيح. سفيان: هو ابن عُيينة، والزهري: هو محمد بن مسلم بن عُبيد الله، وعَمْرة: هي ابنة عبد الرحمن بن سَعْد بن زُرارة.
Grading: (1) Its chain is "sahih". Sufyan (in the chain) is Ibn 'Uyaynah, al-Zuhri is Muhammad bin Muslim bin 'Ubaydullah, and 'Amrah is (the Successor) the daughter of 'Abd al-Rahman bin Sa'd bin Zurarah.
وأخرجه أحمد 40/ (24080)، وكذلك ابن حبان (7014) من طريق عبد الأعلى بن حماد، كلاهما (أحمد وعبد الأعلى) عن سفيان بن عيينة، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: It is recorded in Musnad Ahmad: 40/ (24080) and by Ibn Hibban (7014) through the route of 'Abd al-A'la bin Hammad; both (Ahmad and 'Abd al-A'la) from Sufyan bin 'Uyaynah, with this same chain.
وجاء في رواية الحُميدي في "مسنده" (287) ما نصّه: قيل لسُفيان هو عن عَمْرة؟ قال: نعم لا شكَّ فيه، كذلك قال الزهري.
Important point / Research: In the narration of al-Humaydi ["Musnad al-Humaydi": (287)] these words occur: Sufyan was asked: "Is this from 'Amrah?" He said: "Yes, there is no doubt about it; al-Zuhri said so".
وسيأتي عند المصنّف برقم (7434) من طريق إسحاق الدَّبَري، عن عبد الرزاق، عن معمر، عن الزهري، عن عروة بن الزبير، عن عائشة. فذكر عروة بدلٌ عمرة، وبعضُ من رواه عن عبد الرزاق وافق فيه سفيان بن عُيينة في ذكر عَمْرة كما سيأتي بيانه هناك!
Details of the narration: It will come with the author under number (7434) through the route of Ishaq al-Dabari > 'Abd al-Razzaq > Ma'mar > al-Zuhri > 'Urwah bin al-Zubayr > 'A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her); there "'Urwah" is mentioned (in the chain) in place of 'Amrah. However, some of those who narrated it from 'Abd al-Razzaq agreed with Sufyan bin 'Uyaynah in mentioning 'Amrah, as will be explained there.
وقوله: "كذلكم البِرُّ"؛ أي: مثل تلك الدرجة تُنال بسبب البِرّ.
Technical note / Language: (In the hadith) "kadhalikum al-birr" means: such a rank is attained because of righteousness.
