2/ 126. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: (3) Muhammad bin 'Umar al-Waqidi is not alone in this; Ibn Ishaq corroborated him, as in "Sirat Ibn Hisham": 2/ 126. 1/ 264 - 265. Reference / Source: This report is in "Maghazi al-Waqidi": 1/ 264-265. 8/ 158. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: The martyrdom of 'Amr bin al-Jamuh and his mawla (freed slave) on the day of Uhud is narrated in the hadith of Abu Qatadah al-Ansari in Musnad Ahmad: 37/ (22553) and elsewhere, with a "hasan" chain, as al-Hafiz said in "Fath al-Bari": 8/ 158.
Note / Clarification: (1) The biography of Sa'd bin Khaythamah has passed after the virtues of 'Umayr bin Abi Waqqas, after report (4925). The author mentioned there the second of the two reports that are here, though in each place there is an addition that is not in the other.
