Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 4974

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: My father said to me: "O my dear son, I think that tomorrow, on the day of Uhud, my name will be among the first of those who are martyred. So I enjoin you to treat the daughters of Abdullah (your sisters) well." Then, when the battle took place, he was martyred that very day.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: (3) In our manuscripts this word was corrupted into "Abu Salamah"; it appears correctly (Abu Maslamah) in "Talkhis al-Mustadrak" and "Ithaf al-Maharah": (25323). He is Abu Maslamah Sa'id bin Yazid bin Maslamah al-Basri al-Qasir.

Grading: (1) This report is "sahih", and this chain is "hasan" because of Abu Hilal, who is Muhammad bin Sulaym al-Rasibi; he is "salih al-hadith" (acceptable in hadith), and he has been corroborated, as in the third route. Abu Nadrah (in the chain) is al-Mundhir bin Malik bin Qit'ah al-'Abdi.
Reference / Source: Ibn Sa'd recorded it in "al-Tabaqat al-Kubra": 3/ 522 from Musa bin Isma'il, from Abu Hilal al-Rasibi, with this same chain.
