حدثنا أبو عبد الله محمد بن أحمد، حدثنا الحسن بن الجَهْم، حدثنا الحُسين بن الفَرَج، حدثنا محمد بن عمر، عن شُيوخه، قالوا: لما أُصيبَ حمزةُ جَعَلَ رسولُ الله ﷺ يقولُ: "لن أُصابَ بمثلِك أبدًا"، ثم قال لفاطمة ولِعمَّتِه صفيّة: "أبشرا، أتاني جِبريلُ ﵇، فأخبَرَني أنَّ حمزةَ مَكتوبٌ في أهلِ السماوات: حمزةُ بنُ عبد المُطَّلب أَسَدُ اللهِ وأَسَدُ رسولِه" (2).

Muhammad bin Umar narrates from his shaykhs that they said: When Sayyiduna Hamzah (may Allah be pleased with him) was martyred, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) began to say in grief: "I will never be afflicted with a loss like yours." Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Sayyidah Fatimah and to his paternal aunt Sayyidah Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with them both): "Rejoice, for Jibril (peace be upon him) came to me and informed me that it has been written among the inhabitants of the heavens that Hamzah bin Abd al-Muttalib is the lion of Allah and the lion of His Messenger."

(2) إسناده ضعيف جدًّا من أجل محمد بن عمر - وهو ابن واقد الواقدي - ففيه مقالٌ معروف، ولا يُعرف عن أيّ شيوخه حمل هذا الخبر، على أنه وإن عُرف عمن حمله يبقى فيه علَّة الإرسال أو الإعضال، ولم يُرو هذا الخبر من وجه آخر يُعتدُّ به.
Grading: (2) Its chain is "da'if jiddan" (very weak) on account of Muhammad bin 'Umar (Ibn Waqid al-Waqidi), about whom there is well-known criticism; and it is not known from which of his shaykhs he took this report. Even if the narrator were known, the defect of "irsal" or "i'dal" (a break in the chain) would remain, and this report is not narrated through any other reliable route.
وهو في "مغازي الواقدي" 1/ 290. وذكره ابن هشام في "السيرة النبوية" 2/ 96 بغير إسنادٍ.
Reference / Source: This narration is in "Maghazi al-Waqidi": 1/290, and Ibn Hisham mentioned it in "al-Sirah al-Nabawiyyah": 2/96 without a chain.
وسيأتي عند المصنف برقم (4959) من طريق يحيى بن عبد الرحمن بن أبي لبيبة عن جده.
