It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Miswar bin Makhramah (may Allah be pleased with him) that Aminah bint Wahb, the mother of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), was under the guardianship of her paternal uncle Uhayb bin Abd Manaf bin Zuhrah. Abd al-Muttalib bin Hashim came with his son Abdullah bin Abd al-Muttalib (the father of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)), and Abdullah married Aminah bint Wahb, and Abd al-Muttalib married Halah bint Uhayb bin Abd Manaf bin Zuhrah, who is the mother of Hamzah bin Abd al-Muttalib. Both these marriages took place in a single sitting. He (Hamzah) was close in age to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he was also his foster brother.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: (1) In the manuscripts this word was distorted into "al-Makhzumi", whereas the correct form is "al-Makhrami", an attribution to "Makhramah", one of the narrator's forefathers, who is the father of al-Miswar (bin Makhramah).
Technical note / Grammar: (2) In the source manuscripts of al-Mustadrak this word comes thus in the nominative, as the start of a new clause (isti'naf), so it will be the predicate of an omitted subject.
(4802). Important point / Research: (3) This report is so "well known" among the biographers that, because of its fame, there is no need to look for a chain for it; so Muhammad bin 'Umar al-Waqidi is not alone in reporting it. And there is no harm in the narrators above him (al-Waqidi) (la ba'sa bihim), as explained under no. (4802). Reference / Source: This narration is in Ibn Sa'd's "al-Tabaqat": 1/75 from Muhammad bin 'Umar al-Waqidi with this same chain. Details of the narration: A similar narration has passed at no. (4221) via 'Abd al-'Aziz bin 'Imran, from 'Abd Allah bin Ja'far, from Abu 'Awn, from al-Miswar bin Makhramah, from Ibn 'Abbas, from his father (al-'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him)). (4664). Reference / Source: Ibn Sa'd also narrated it at 1/75 from Muhammad bin 'Umar al-Waqidi, from 'Umar bin Muhammad bin 'Umar bin Abi Talib, from Yahya bin Shibl, from Abu Ja'far Muhammad bin 'Ali bin al-Husayn, "mursal". Important point: That Sayyiduna Hamzah (may Allah be pleased with him) was the foster brother of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) is established by the hadith of Sayyiduna 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that passed at no. (4664). (1447). Reference / Source: The hadith of Sayyiduna Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) is in Musnad Ahmad: 3/(1952), Sahih al-Bukhari: (2645) and Sahih Muslim: (1447). (1448). Reference / Source: And the hadith of Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) is in Sahih Muslim: (1448).
