حدثنا أبو العبّاس محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا محمد بن خالد بن خَلِيّ الحمصي، حدثنا الحجّاج بن أبي مَنيع، حدثني جدي عبيد الله بن أبي زياد، عن الزُّهْري، قال: إنَّ أول امرأة تزوجها رسول الله ﷺ خديجةُ بنتُ خويِلدِ بن أَسَدِ بن عبد العُزّى، تزوَّجها في الجاهلية، وأنكحَها أبوها خُوَيلدُ بن أسَد (1).
It is narrated from Imam al-Zuhri (may Allah have mercy on him) that the first woman whom the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) married was Sayyidah Khadijah bint Khuwaylid bin Asad bin Abd al-Uzza. He (peace and blessings be upon him) married her in the period of Jahiliyyah, and her father, Khuwaylid bin Asad, gave her in marriage.

Grading of the chain: Its chain up to al-Zuhri is "jayyid" (good).
وأخرجه البيهقي،707، ومن طريقه ابن عساكر في "تاريخ دمشق" 3/ 177 من طريقين عن الحجاج بن أبي منيع، به.
Takhrij / Reference: Al-Bayhaqi (707), and by way of him Ibn 'Asakir in "Tarikh Dimashq" (3/177), narrated it through two routes from al-Hajjaj bin Abi Mani', in the same way.
