حدثني أبو بكر محمد بن أحمد بن بالَوَيهِ، حدثنا أبو مُسلِم إبراهيم بن عبد الله، حدثنا حجَّاج بن نُصير، حدثنا قُرّة بن خالد، حدثنا عامر بن عبد الواحد، عن أبي الضُّحى، عن ابن عبّاس قال: ما كنا نشُكُّ وأهلُ البيت مُتوافِرون أنَّ الحُسين بن علي يُقتل بالطَّفّ (1).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both): Even when the Ahl al-Bayt were present in great numbers, we had no doubt that Husayn bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) would be martyred at al-Taff (Karbala).

(1) إسناده ضعيف جدًّا من أجل حجاج بن نُصير، فقد تُرك كما قال الذهبي في "تلخيصه". والطَّفّ: أرض من ضاحية الكوفة، عُرف فيما بعد بكربلاء.
Grading of the chain: This chain is "da'if jiddan" (very weak) because of Hajjaj bin Nusayr; he is "matruk" (abandoned), as al-Dhahabi said in "al-Talkhis".
Geography: "Al-Taff": the name of a tract of land on the outskirts of Kufah, which later came to be known as "Karbala'".
