Virtues of al-Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him): the pledge of allegiance to al-Hasan in Kufah

قال ابن عُمر: وحدثنا داود بن سنان، سمعت ثعلبة بن أبي مالك، قال: شَهِدْنا الحسن بن علي يومَ مات ودفناه بالبقيع، ولو طُرِحتْ إبرةٌ ما وقعتْ إِلَّا على رأس إنسانٍ (4).
Ibn Umar (al-Waqidi) said: Dawud bin Sinan told us: I heard Tha'labah bin Abi Malik say: We were present on the day Sayyiduna Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) died, and we buried him in Jannat al-Baqi'. So many people had gathered there at that time that if even a needle had been dropped, it would have fallen on someone's head rather than on the ground.

(4) خبر حسن، ومن فوق محمد بن عمر الواقدي لا بأس بهم، وقد جاء دفنُ الحسن بن عليٍّ بالبقيع من وجوهٍ، وأنَّ أهل المدينة والعوالي قد حضروا جنازته.
Grading of the report: This report is "hasan". The narrators above Muhammad bin 'Umar al-Waqidi are "la ba'sa bihim" (acceptable). The burial of al-Hasan bin 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) in al-Baqi' is narrated through several routes, as is the fact that the people of Madinah and al-'Awali (the outskirts of Madinah) attended his funeral.
وأخرجه ابن سعد في "طبقاته" 6/ 392، ومن طريقه ابن عساكر 13/ 297 عن محمد بن عمر الواقدي، به.
Reference / Source: Ibn Sa'd narrated it in "al-Tabaqat" (6/ 392), and through his route Ibn 'Asakir (13/ 297), from Muhammad bin 'Umar al-Waqidi, with this chain.
وأخرج قصة دفنه في البقيع ابنُ سعد 6/ 387 من طريق أبي حازم سلمان الأشجعي، وكان قد حَضَر دَفْنِ الحَسَن كما تقدم برقم (4855)، وإسناده صحيح.
Reference / Source: The account of his burial in al-Baqi' was narrated by Ibn Sa'd (6/ 387) by way of Abu Hazim Salman al-Ashja'i, who was present at the burial of al-Hasan (as has passed at number 4855), and its chain is "sahih".
وأخرج ابن سعد 6/ 392، ومن طريقه ابن عساكر 13/ 297 عن محمد بن عمر الواقدي، عن هاشم بن عاصم الأسلمي، عن جهم بن أبي جهم، قال: لما مات الحسن بن علي بعثت بنو هاشم إلى العوالي صائحًا يصيح في كل قرية من قُرى الأنصار بموت الحسن، فنزل أهل العوالي ولم يتخلّف أحدٌ عنه.
