حدثنا أبو العباس محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا العباس بن محمد الدُّوري، حدثنا شاذَانُ الأسود بن عامر، حدثنا جعفر بن زياد الأحمر، عن عبد الله بن عطاء، عن عبد الله بن بُريدة، عن أبيه، قال: كان أحبَّ النساء (1) إلى رسول الله ﷺ فاطمة، ومن الرجال عليٌّ (2).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يخرجاه.

Abdullah bin Buraydah narrates from his father, Sayyiduna Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him), that he said: The most beloved of women to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her), and of men, Ali (may Allah be pleased with him).
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(1) وقع في أصولنا الخطيّة هنا: الناس، وهو تحريف صوّبناه من مكرره الآتي برقم (4795).
Note / Clarification: In our manuscripts the word "al-nas" is written here, which is a distortion. We have corrected it from the repetition coming later (4795).
(2) إسناده حسن من أجل جعفر بن زياد الأحمر وعبد الله بن عطاء - وهو الطائفي - فكلاهما صدوق حسن الحديث. وسيأتي مكررًا برقم (4795).
Grading: Its chain is "hasan".
Technical note / Defect ('illah): This is because of "Ja'far bin Ziyad al-Ahmar" and "'Abd Allah bin 'Ata'" (al-Ta'ifi); both of them are saduq and hasan al-hadith. This narration will be repeated at (4795).
وأخرجه الترمذي (3868)، والنسائي (8444) من طريق إبراهيم بن سعيد الجوهري، عن شاذان الأسود بن عامر، بهذا الإسناد. وقال الجوهري في رواية الترمذي: يعني من أهل بيته. وقال الترمذي: حديث حسن غريب.
Reference / Source: Al-Tirmidhi (3868) and al-Nasa'i (8444) narrated it via Ibrahim bin Sa'id al-Jawhari from Shadhan al-Aswad bin 'Amir, with this chain. Al-Jawhari said in al-Tirmidhi's narration: "i.e. from among his household."
Grading: Al-Tirmidhi said: This hadith is "hasan gharib".
