It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Fatimah guarded her chastity so completely that Allah Almighty has forbidden the Fire to her offspring."

Hadith Grading
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: The chain of this hadith is extremely weak because of "'Amr bin Ghiyath" (who is also called 'Umar).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Imam al-Bukhari said: "Fi hadithihi nazar" (his hadith is open to question). Also al-Bukhari, Abu Hatim and Ibn 'Adi declared him "munkar al-hadith". Ibn Hibban said: He narrates from 'Asim (Ibn Abi al-Najud) things that are not from his hadith. Imam al-Bukhari also said that his hearing from 'Asim is not mentioned. Imam al-Dhahabi wrote in "al-Mizan": The bane of this narration is this very "'Amr".
Technical note / Defect ('illah): There is disagreement from this narrator as to whether the hadith is "marfu'" (attributed to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him) or "mawquf" (stopping at the Companion), as al-'Uqayli pointed out in "al-Du'afa'" (3/ 46), and he said: "The mawquf version is preferable (awla)."
Reference / Source: Imam al-Bazzar in his "Musnad" (1829), Ibn 'Adi in "al-Kamil" (5/ 58) and al-Daraqutni in "al-'Ilal" (710) mentioned that there is also disagreement reported from this narrator as to whether the hadith is "mawsul" (connected) or "mursal".
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: "Talid bin Sulayman" corroborated him in narrating the hadith as mawsul and marfu', but he is in a worse condition than him, so his corroboration carries no weight. There is also a third corroboration of him which will come later, but it contains a "matruk and accused" narrator, so it too is no cause for comfort (i.e. it too is unreliable).
Reference / Source: The author (al-Hakim) narrated it in "Fada'il Fatimah al-Zahra'" (51) via Abu al-Husayn Ahmad bin 'Uthman al-Adami, in which no intermediary is mentioned between Muhammad bin 'Uqbah and Mu'awiyah bin Hisham, and this is more preponderant. For Imam al-Bazzar (1829) and Abu Ya'la in "al-Musnad al-Kabir" (as cited in al-Matalib al-'Aliyah: 3959) narrated from Muhammad bin 'Uqbah al-Sadusi that he said: "Mu'awiyah bin Hisham narrated to us."
Details of the narration: When Ibn 'Adi narrated it in "al-Kamil" (5/ 58) via Abu Ya'la, "Muhammad bin 'Amr al-Zuhri" is mentioned there in place of Muhammad bin Humran al-Qaysi.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): When Abu Nu'aym narrated it in "al-Hilyah" (4/ 188) and "Fada'il al-Khulafa' al-Rashidin" (139) via Ibrahim bin Hashim, he combined both "Muhammad bin 'Uqbah al-Sadusi and Muhammad bin 'Amr al-Zuhri" (narrated it maqrun, jointly). This method is contrary to Ibn 'Adi's narration (which is from Abu Ya'la), but it is more preponderant because it agrees with Abu Ya'la's narration in "al-Musnad al-Kabir".
Reference / Source: The author also narrated it in "Fada'il Fatimah" (52) via Abu Muhammad al-Muzani.
Reference / Source: This narration was recorded by al-'Uqayli in "al-Du'afa'" (1145), al-Tabarani in "al-Kabir" (2625 and 22/ 1018), the author in "Fada'il Fatimah" (52), Tammam al-Razi in "al-Fawa'id" (357), Abu Nu'aym in "al-Hilyah" (4/ 188), "Fada'il al-Khulafa'" (139) and "Ma'rifat al-Sahabah" (7329), Ibn 'Asakir (63/ 30) and Ibn al-Jawzi in "al-Mawdu'at" (781), via various routes through "Abu Kurayb Muhammad bin al-'Ala'".
Reference / Source: Also Ibn 'Adi (5/ 58), Ibn Shahin in "Sharh Madhahib Ahl al-Sunnah" (181) and "Fada'il Fatimah" (10), Abu Nu'aym in "al-Hilyah" (4/ 188), Ibn al-Maghazili in "Manaqib 'Ali" (403), Ibn 'Asakir (14/ 173-174) and Ibn al-Jawzi (782) narrated it through "'Ali bin al-Muthanna al-Tahawi".
Grading: Al-'Uqayli narrated it in "al-Du'afa'" (3/ 46) via Ahmad bin Musa al-Azdi as "mawquf" on 'Abd Allah bin Mas'ud, and al-'Uqayli said: "This is preferable."
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Ibn 'Adi (5/ 58), Tammam in "al-Fawa'id" (358) and Ibn 'Asakir (63/ 60) narrated it via Abu Nu'aym al-Fadl bin Dukayn with the chain "'Amr bin Ghiyath from 'Asim from Zirr" as "mursal". Al-Khatib al-Baghdadi (as Abu al-Qasim al-Mihrawani reported in "al-Mihrawaniyyat" 69) said: "The version of Abu Nu'aym (i.e. that it is mursal) is closer to being correct."
Grading: Ibn Shahin in "Fada'il Fatimah" (12), and via him Ibn 'Asakir (14/ 174), narrated it via "Talid bin Sulayman" as "marfu'" (from Ibn Mas'ud), but Talid bin Sulayman is "very weak".
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Ibn Shahin (11) and Abu al-Qasim al-Mihrawani (69) also narrated it via Yunus bin Sabiq as "marfu' and muttasil", in which "Hudhayfah bin al-Yaman" is mentioned in place of 'Abd Allah bin Mas'ud. But this chain contains "Hafs bin 'Umar al-Ubulli", who is matruk al-hadith, and some hadith scholars also accused him. Moreover, the one narrating from Hafs in it, "Yunus bin Sabiq", is unknown (majhul); it is not known who he is.
