Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 4771

It is narrated from Hanash al-Kinani that he said: I heard Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him), while holding on to the door of the Ka'bah, say: "Whoever knows me, knows me; and whoever does not know me, then (let him know that) I am Abu Dharr. I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'Behold! The likeness of my household among you is like the ark of Nuh (peace be upon him): whoever boards it is saved, and whoever stays behind from it perishes.'"
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is "wahin" (extremely weak) because of Mufaddal bin Salih; he is munkar al-hadith and al-Dhahabi called him "wahin" (weak) in his "Talkhis", and (the narrator) Hanash is also not strong. This narration has passed at no. (3351) via Yunus bin Bukayr from Mufaddal bin Salih.

Reference / Source: Abu 'Abd Allah al-Fakihi recorded it in "Akhbar Makkah" (1904) from Isma'il bin Muhammad al-Ahmasi, with this chain. He named his teacher "Isma'il bin Muhammad" in this way, and he has called him by this name more than once.
