حدثنا أبو بكر محمد بن الحسين بن مُصلِح الفقيه بالرَّيّ، حدثنا محمد بن أيوب، حدثنا يحيى بن المُغيرة السَّعْدي، حدثنا جَرير بن عبد الحميد، عن الحسن بن عُبيد الله النَّخَعي، عن مُسلم بن صُبَيح، عن زيد بن أرقم، قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "إني تاركٌ فيكم الثَّقَلين: كتابَ الله، وأهلَ بيتي، وإنهما لن يتفرّقا حتى يَرِدا علَيَّ الحَوضَ" (1). هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد على شرط الشيخين ولم يُخرجاه. It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zayd bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I am leaving among you two weighty things (al-thaqalayn): the Book of Allah and my Ahl al-Bayt, and these two will never separate from each other until they come to me at the Pond (al-Kawthar)."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

Reference / Source: Ya'qub bin Sufyan recorded it in "al-Ma'rifah wa al-Tarikh" (1/ 536), al-Bazzar (4325), al-Tabarani in "al-Kabir" (4981 and 4982), Ibn 'Asakir in his "Mu'jam" (1026) and Abu al-Qasim al-Rafi'i in "al-Tadwin" (3/ 465), via several routes from Jarir bin 'Abd al-Hamid, with this chain. وقد تقدَّم برقم (4627) من طريق أبي الطُّفيل عامر بن واثلة عن زيد بن أرقم.
