It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Banu Abd al-Muttalib! I have asked Allah three things for you: that He keep firm those of you who stand steadfast, that He guide those of you who have gone astray, and that He grant knowledge to the ignorant among you. And I also asked Allah to make you generous, brave and merciful. So if a man were to stand between the Corner (al-Rukn) and the Station (al-Maqam), praying and fasting, and then meet Allah while he hates the Ahl al-Bayt of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), he will enter Hell."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Technical note / Defect ('illah): Abu Uways (whose name is 'Abd Allah bin 'Abd Allah bin Uways al-Asbahi) and his son are both of the same category; when they narrate alone, both have weakness, though they are taken into consideration in corroborations and supporting reports; but here they have not been corroborated.
