فأخبرني أبو العباس محمد بن أحمد المَحبُوبي، حدثنا أحمد بن سيّار الإمام، حدثنا رافع بن حرب اللّيثي، حدثنا حَكيم بن زيد، عن أبي إسحاق الهَمْداني، قال: رأيتُ قاتِلَ عليِّ بن أبي طالب يُحرَّق بالنار في أصحاب الرِّماح (2).

It is narrated from Abu Ishaq al-Hamdani that he said: "I saw the killer of Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) being burned with fire among the spear-bearers."

(2) إسناده ضعيف لجهالة رافع بن حرب الليثي، فليس له ذكر في كتب الرجال، وحكيم بن زيد - وهو المروزي - روى عنه ثلاثة وقال أبو حاتم: صالح هو شيخ، وقال أبو الفتح الأزدي فيه نظر.
Grading: Its chain is "da'if" because "Rafi' bin Harb al-Laythi" is unknown (majhul), as there is no mention of him in the books of narrators (rijal).
Criticism and praise (jarh wa ta'dil): Three narrators narrated from the narrator "Hakim bin Zayd" (al-Marwazi). Abu Hatim said: "He is salih, a shaykh", while Abu al-Fath al-Azdi said: "There is some consideration about him (fihi nazar)" (i.e. he is weak).
