Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 4600

It is narrated from Mus'ab bin Abdullah al-Zubayri that al-Walid bin Uqbah bin Abi Mu'ayt bin Amr bin Umayyah bin Abd Shams was the brother of Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) through his mother. The mother of both of them was Arwa bint Kurayz bin Rabi'ah bin Abd Shams, and Arwa's mother was Umm Hakim al-Bayda' bint Abd al-Muttalib bin Abd Manaf, who was the paternal aunt of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had Uqbah bin Abi Mu'ayt killed on his return (from the Battle of Badr), while al-Walid was a grown man (adult) in the blessed era of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and his kunyah was Abu Wahb.
