حدَّثَنا أبو بكر بن إسحاق الفقيه، أخبرنا الحسين بن بشّار الخَيَّاط (2) ببغداد، حدثنا أبو بلال الأشعري، حدثنا محمد بن خازِم، عن الأعمش، عن أبي سفيان، عن جابر قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "استقيموا، ولن تُحصُوا، واعلموا أنَّ خيرَ أعمالكم الصلاةُ، ولن يُواظِبَ على الوُضوءِ إلّا مؤمن" (1).
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Be steadfast; you will not be able to count it; and know that among your best deeds is prayer, and none persists in ablution except a believer."

(2) تصحف في بعض نسخ "المستدرك" إلى: الحسين بن يسار الحناط، والصواب ما أثبتنا، وهكذا سماه الخطيب البغدادي في "تلخيص المتشابه في الرسم" ص 688، كما أنَّ السمعاني ذكره في ر رسم الخياط من كتابه "الأنساب".
Technical note / Defect ('illah): In some manuscripts of al-Mustadrak the name has been corrupted to "al-Husayn bin Yasar al-Hannat", whereas the correct name is the one we have recorded (al-Hasan bin Yasar al-Khayyat); likewise, al-Khatib al-Baghdadi mentioned him in "Talkhis al-Mutashabih" (p. 688), and al-Sam'ani in "al-Ansab" under "al-Khayyat".
(1) إسناده ضعيف، أبو بلال الأشعري ضعفه الدارقطني في "السنن" (857)، ثم إنه قد وهمَ فيه كما ذكر المصنف، والمحفوظ حديث ثوبان السابق.
Grading: Its chain is weak, because Imam al-Daraqutni declared Abu Bilal al-Ash'ari weak (in al-Sunan, 857); moreover, he made an error (wahm) in it, as the author mentioned; the mahfuz narration is the preceding hadith of Thawban.
