Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 4544

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) accepted Islam, the polytheists said: Today our match has been made against us (that is, with the Muslims' strength increasing, our power has been left at half).
This hadith has an authentic (sahih) chain, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Hadith Grading
Hadith Takhrij «
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is very weak (da'if jiddan).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): The reason is the narrator al-Nadr Abu Umar al-Khazzaz (who is Ibn Abd al-Rahman), for he is matruk al-hadith (abandoned in hadith). And (the other narrator) Yahya bin Abd al-Hamid (who is Ibn Abd al-Rahman al-Himmani) is weak, but he has been corroborated.
