Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: In manuscripts (Z) and (M), "Ab 'Amr" is written instead of "Abu 'Amr" (with the waw dropped), and this is rarely permissible in the speech of the Arabs. Of this kind is also the verse of the poet:
Note / Clarification: (Translation of the verse: 'Adi followed his father ("abah") in generosity; and whoever resembles his father ("abah") has done no wrong.)

Grading: Its chain is hasan.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): This report was narrated by Muhammad bin Ishaq (who is Ibn Yasar al-Muttalibi) from Ubayd Allah bin Umar, from Nafi', as occurs in the narration of Sulayman bin Harb with the author (al-Hakim) and others. Narrators other than Sulayman bin Harb narrated it from Muhammad bin Ishaq directly from Nafi' (without Ubayd Allah as an intermediary). Ibn Ishaq also explicitly stated that he heard it from Nafi' in the narrations of Yunus bin Bukayr, Ziyad bin Abd Allah al-Bakka'i and Jarir bin Hazim from him. This means that Ibn Ishaq first heard it from Ubayd Allah bin Umar, and later heard it directly from Nafi' as well, so both narrations of Ibn Ishaq are mahfuz (preserved). The difference in some of the wording between the two versions also supports this. And Allah knows best.
Reference / Source: Al-Tabarani recorded it in "al-Kubra" (83) and "al-Mu'jam al-Awsat" (2367) from Abu Muslim Ibrahim bin Abd Allah al-Kajji, from Sulayman bin Harb, with this chain in abridged form, containing Ibn Umar's question to his father about who rescued him from the hands of the polytheists when they were beating him.
Details of the narration: Ibn Ishaq recorded something similar in "al-Sirah al-Nabawiyyah" in the narration of Yunus bin Bukayr (226) and the narration of Ziyad al-Bakka'i (as in "Sirat Ibn Hisham" 1/348-349), saying: "Nafi', the freed slave of Ibn Umar, narrated to me from Ibn Umar." Neither of them mentioned Ubayd Allah bin Umar in its chain.
Reference / Source: Likewise, Abd Allah bin Ahmad recorded it in "Fada'il al-Sahabah" (372 b) via Ibrahim bin Sa'd, al-Bazzar (156) via Abd Allah bin Idris, Ibn Hibban (6879) via Jarir bin Hazim, and Diya' al-Din al-Maqdisi in "al-Mukhtarah" (226) via Yahya bin Zakariyya bin Abi Za'idah. All four of them (Ibrahim, Abd Allah, Jarir and Yahya) narrate it from Muhammad bin Ishaq, from Nafi', from Ibn Umar.
Grading: Al-Hafiz Ibn Kathir said in "al-Bidayah wa al-Nihayah" (4/21): Its chain is good (jayyid) and strong.
Note / Clarification: "Al-qamis al-qumasi" means a shirt attributed to Qumas, a small region lying parallel to the Alborz mountains, to the southeast of the Tabaristan region, south of the Caspian Sea.
