Hadith Takhrij «
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: This report is "sahih", and this chain is "strong" because it contains Abd Allah bin al-Walid al-Adani, and he has been corroborated. Sufyan refers to "al-Thawri".
Reference / Source: Al-Bukhari also narrated it in his "Sahih" (no. 3863) from Muhammad bin Kathir, from Sufyan al-Thawri, with this same chain.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Therefore al-Hakim's including this hadith as an addition (istidrak) (saying that it is not in the two Sahihs) is an oversight and slip on his part.
Details of the narration: Al-Bukhari also narrated it (no. 3684) via Yahya bin Sa'id al-Qattan, and Ibn Hibban recorded it (no. 6880) via Abu Usamah Hammad bin Usamah; both of them (Yahya and Hammad) narrate it from Isma'il bin Abi Khalid with this same chain.
Note / Clarification: See also the place that passed earlier under no. (4537).
