Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 453

[حدثنا أبو الحسن علي بن محمد بن عُقْبة] (2) الشيباني بالكوفة، حدثنا إبراهيم بن إسحاق القاضي الزُّهْري، حدثنا محمد بن عُبيد، حدثنا الأعمش. وأخبرنا أبو بكر بن بالَوَيهِ، حدثنا محمد بن أحمد بن النَّضْر، حدثنا معاوية بن عمرو، حدثنا زائدة، عن الأعمش، عن سالم بن أبي الجَعْد، عن ثَوْبان قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "استقيموا، ولن تُحصُوا، واعلموا أن خيرَ أعمالِكم الصلاةُ، ولن يحافظَ على الوُضوءِ إلّا مؤمنٌ". وقد تابع منصورُ بن المعتمر الأعمشَ في هذه الرواية عن سالم:
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Stay on the straight path, and you will not be able to count all good deeds; and know that the best of your deeds is prayer, and none guards his ablution except a believer."
In this narration, Mansur bin al-Mu'tamir corroborated al-A'mash.

(2) ما بين المعقوفين مكانه في النسخ بياض، واستدركناه من "شعب الإيمان" للبيهقي (2457) حيث رواه عن المصنف بهذا الإسناد.
Note / Clarification: The text between the square brackets was blank in the manuscripts, and we have completed it from al-Bayhaqi's "Shu'ab al-Iman" (2457), where he narrated it from the author (al-Hakim) with this same chain.
