حدثنا أبو بكر بن إسحاق، أخبرنا عبد الله بن أحمد بن حنبل، حدثنا أبي وأحمد بن مَنِيع، قالا: حدثنا أبو بكر بن عيّاش عن عاصم، عن زِرٍّ، عن عبد الله، قال: أجمعَ أصحابُ النبيِّ ﷺ واستخلَفُوا أبا بكر (4). ومن مناقب أمير المؤمنين عُمر بن الخطاب ﵁ -

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: All the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) agreed and chose Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) as their caliph. (Here begin the virtues of the Commander of the Believers, Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him).)

(4) لا يصحُّ هذا الحرف من قول عبد الله - وهو ابن مسعود - إنما هو من قول أبي بكر بن عيّاش كما تقدم بيانه برقم (4515).
